The Location
The Villa
Our private 19th-century villa, once the summer residence of Italian dukes, is steeped in history and charm. Surrounded by a lush garden filled with pine, olive, and palm trees, it offers a peaceful retreat from the world. The villa’s grand entrance, a tree-lined alley flanked by centuries-old trees, sets the tone for your stay. Just steps away lies the small port of Tricase, with its colorful fishing boats and crystal-clear Adriatic waters—perfect for a refreshing dip in the serene, calm sea during late afternoons.
Yoga sessions will take place on the outdoor terrace, under the shade of ancient olive trees. Mats are provided, so all you need to do is show up and enjoy!
Le Camere: The Rooms
Each room in the villa has its own unique charm, offering either ocean or garden views. You can choose between single or double accommodations. Please note, this is a historic summer residence, full of whimsical character and laid-back luxury. If you're expecting a typical resort experience, like the JW Marriott, this may not be the retreat for you. However, if you’re drawn to understated sophistication and have a flair for living out your "Talented Mr. Ripley" fantasy, you’ll feel right at home here. Space is limited to 12 guests.
La Cucina: The Food
Breakfasts feature fresh, local ingredients: free-range eggs, artisan cheeses, homemade jams, ripe local melons, and freshly brewed coffee. For lunch, you’ll savor cured meats, rocket salad with summer figs and honey, and for dinner, you’ll enjoy traditional Pugliese cuisine with plenty of vegetarian options, handmade orecchiette pasta, grilled seasonal vegetables, and ancient grains. All paired with local wines from our friend’s renowned winery. Our two talented Italian cooks source everything from nearby markets, ensuring every meal is a delight. The menu varies, but these examples give you a taste of what to expect.
How To Get Here
There are two main airports in Puglia: Bari and Brindisi. Brindisi is the most convenient, about a one-hour drive from the villa, while Bari is roughly 2.5 hours away. Most guests find renting a car to be the easiest option, whether traveling alone or with a friend. If you're not comfortable driving or prefer not to, we can arrange for you to share a ride with other guests arriving at the same time. Renting a car in Puglia is both simple and affordable. If you have extra time before or after the retreat, we recommend exploring the beautiful towns of Lecce or Ostuni.
Activities
Our villa is located in the quaint seaside village of Tricase Porto, just a short stroll from the sparkling blue sea. The water is perfect for swimming, even for those who usually prefer warmer temperatures. You can walk to a charming café nearby for a cappuccino or spritz, and enjoy fantastic local Italian restaurants. Beyond the villa, the area is full of treasures waiting to be explored: baroque towns, hidden swimming spots, and workshops where traditional ceramic artisans practice their craft.
